Family, Food, and Fun

family food funThis past weekend, we visited our daughter and her family. Any time we get together, we have a great time, but this time we shared something yummy unlike anything we had ever eaten.

A little background: I grew up with parents from the South, so we ate biscuits frequently. I have never met a biscuit I didn’t like. I now have a new version that will get prepared for special occasions—Cocoa Buttermilk Breakfast Biscuits with Brown Sugar Cinnamon Butter. Doesn’t the name alone make your mouth water?

The author of this site, How Sweet It Is, said, “You know how there are “those” people… who don’t really love super sweet chocolate stuff or pastries or desserts or whatever? Yeah yeah, you might be one of them, I KNOW. Buuuuut these are totally for them. Or you.

“They are chocolatey enough to be chocolatey but not overly sweet that your teeth hurt for breakfast. And I guess you COULD eat them with dessert too, warm and soft and covered with ice cream or some kind of syrup and maybe even fruit.” brown sugar cinnamon butter

Our daughter sent home the leftovers. They are gone. I have absolutely no willpower when something that good is near!

Now when is the next special occasion?
